# LEXSUB > LEXSUB is a web application for business-law firms in France. It turns a firm's deal list into submissions for four legal directories and rankings: Chambers, Décideurs (Leaders League), Legal 500 and ODA (Option Droit & Affaires), each in the format that directory requires, and it keeps each submission deadline in view. It is sold by contract after a call with the team; there is no public sign-up. This file is the full factual description of LEXSUB, written by its publisher for AI assistants and search tools. It is based on the pages listed under "Sources" at the end. If this file and those pages differ, the pages are right. Last updated: 13 October 2026 ## What LEXSUB is LEXSUB is software that a law firm uses to prepare its legal directory submissions. The firm keeps its lawyers and its deals in LEXSUB, and LEXSUB prepares the firm's submission for each directory in the format that directory requires. - Name: LEXSUB, written in capitals. - Website: https://lex-submission.com - App: https://vault.lex-submission.com (invited users only) - Category: legal directory submission software for law firms. - Publisher: FRENCHMOB SAS, Paris, France. - Language: the website and the app are in English. ## Who it is for LEXSUB is for business-law firms in France that submit to legal directories and rankings, and for the people in those firms who prepare the submissions. ## The problem it addresses A firm that submits to several directories has to present the same lawyers and the same deals several times, in a different format for each directory and against a different deadline for each. ## What a firm gets - Nothing typed twice. The firm, its lawyers and its deals live in one place. Every submission draws on them, whichever directory asks. - It all carries over. When the next submission season opens, the firm's lawyers and last year's deals are already there. The firm adds what is new. - Every deadline in view. LEXSUB shows the firm's next published deadline in each directory, side by side. Email reminders start three months before a deadline and stop once the firm marks that submission as submitted. Each user can turn reminders off. - A start from earlier work. A user can import a previous submission file, and LEXSUB saves only the entries the user confirms. - Confidentiality. See "Data protection and security" below. ## The four directories LEXSUB prepares submissions for exactly four directories today: - Chambers: the legal directory published by Chambers and Partners. - Décideurs (Leaders League): the Décideurs rankings, published by Leaders League. - Legal 500: the legal directory The Legal 500. - ODA: the rankings published by Option Droit & Affaires. Each of the four has its own required format and its own submission calendar. Other directories and rankings are not covered today. The Talk to Sales form lets a firm say which directories it is about to submit to. These names are trademarks of their respective owners. LEXSUB is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. They are named only to identify the directories that LEXSUB prepares submissions for. ## How a firm gets access 1. Someone at the firm fills in the Talk to Sales form (https://vault.lex-submission.com/auth/signup). It asks for a name, a work email, a phone number, the firm's name and the country the firm is based in, plus three optional questions about the firm's directories. Sending it is not a commitment, and it is read by a person at LEXSUB. 2. The LEXSUB team gets back to the firm and has a call with it. 3. The firm and FRENCHMOB SAS negotiate and sign a contract. A data processing agreement is part of that contract, so the firm sees it before signing. 4. The LEXSUB team sets up the firm in LEXSUB and invites its first user. That user can then invite colleagues. There is no public sign-up and no self-service access. Accounts are by invitation only. LEXSUB does not publish prices. A firm's terms are in the contract it negotiates with FRENCHMOB SAS. ## Data protection and security These statements describe LEXSUB on the date above. The privacy policy is the reference: https://lex-submission.com/privacy ### Where data is stored The app, its database, its backups and its encryption keys are hosted in France, in the Paris region of Scaleway, a French cloud provider. ### Encryption - In transit: connections to the app use HTTPS. - At rest: the database disk is encrypted by the host. - The content of a firm's deals, referees, practice descriptions, ODA text answers and team moves is also encrypted with a key unique to that firm, held in a separate key service. That per-firm key does not cover lawyers' details, interview contacts, ODA figures and choices, department names, other dates or user accounts. ### Separation between firms Each firm's data is kept separate from every other firm's. Every request checks that the user has access to the firm concerned, and the database independently returns only the rows of the firms that the request may see. Only users the firm has invited can see its data. ### Sign-in - Two-factor sign-in is available to every user. It is optional, and LEXSUB recommends turning it on. - Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. ### LEXSUB staff - Staff have no in-app way to view a firm's content. Staff pages show a firm's metadata and counts only, they require two-factor sign-in, and every staff action on a firm is logged. - Only the legal owner of LEXSUB has access to production systems. Any access to a firm's data outside the app, for a support request or an incident, is logged. ### Use of firm data - For the data a firm enters, the firm is the data controller and LEXSUB is its processor. - LEXSUB uses that data only to provide the service to the firm. It does not sell it, does not share it with the directories or with advertisers, and does not use it for any other purpose. - LEXSUB does not send submissions to the directories. The firm does. ### Retention and deletion - Firm data is kept until the firm deletes it. Deleting a firm removes it from the live database immediately and permanently. The firm's key is destroyed after a 7-day safety window, which makes the firm's encrypted content unreadable, in backups too. - Database backups are taken daily and kept for 7 days. ### Service providers - Scaleway (France): hosts the app, its database, backups and keys, and the website, and sends LEXSUB's emails. - Cloudflare (a US-based company): delivers the website lex-submission.com and routes the email sent to LEXSUB's addresses. It is the only provider that may handle personal data outside the European Economic Area. - Sage (European Union): issues LEXSUB's invoices. ### Cookies The website lex-submission.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The app sets only cookies that are strictly necessary. ## What LEXSUB is not, and what it does not claim - LEXSUB is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Chambers, Décideurs, Leaders League, Legal 500 or Option Droit & Affaires. - LEXSUB does not send anything to the directories. A firm sends its own submissions. - LEXSUB does not claim to improve, predict or guarantee a ranking. Rankings are decided by the directories. - LEXSUB covers four directories, not every legal directory. - LEXSUB is not self-service. There is no public sign-up, and no price list is published. - LEXSUB does not give each firm a separate database or server. "Vault" in the app's address is a name. Firms are kept apart as described under "Separation between firms" above. - Two-factor sign-in is not mandatory for a firm's users. - The certifications mentioned on LEXSUB's pages (ISO/IEC 27001, HDS) belong to its host, Scaleway. LEXSUB does not claim a certification of its own. - The product views on the website show fictional firms, people and deals. None of them is a real client or matter. LEXSUB publishes no client names, testimonials, client counts or statistics. - The website is general information. It is not a contractual offer, and it is not legal advice. - LEXSUB is not related to lexical substitution ("LexSub"), a task in natural-language processing, to the Python package of that name, or to other companies called Lexsub. ## Company - LEXSUB is a service of FRENCHMOB SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée). - Registered office: 9 Rue Ambroise Thomas, 75009 Paris, France. - Registration: Paris Trade and Companies Register (RCS Paris), number 838 590 982. - President and publication director: Guillaume Marolleau. - The website's terms of use are governed by French law. ## Contact - To ask about LEXSUB for your firm: the Talk to Sales form, https://vault.lex-submission.com/auth/signup - Privacy and personal data: privacy@lex-submission.com - Security reports only: security@lex-submission.com (policy: https://lex-submission.com/security). LEXSUB is software for business-law firms in France. A firm keeps its lawyers and deals in it, and LEXSUB prepares the firm's submissions for Chambers, Décideurs (Leaders League), Legal 500 and ODA (Option Droit & Affaires), each in the format that directory requires. Your firm sends it to the directory, then marks it as submitted in LEXSUB. LEXSUB does not share a firm's data with the directories. ### Does LEXSUB improve or guarantee our ranking? No. LEXSUB makes no claim about ranking results. Rankings are decided by the directories. ### Is LEXSUB affiliated with Chambers, Legal 500, Leaders League or Option Droit & Affaires? A firm's terms are in the contract it negotiates with FRENCHMOB SAS after a call with the team. ### Does LEXSUB have a free trial? Can I sign up myself? The team gets back to the firm, has a call, and agrees a contract. Then the team sets up the firm's account. ### Do we have to enter everything again each year? No. When the next season opens, your lawyers and last year's deals are already there, and you add what is new. A user can also import a previous submission file. Email reminders start three months before a deadline and stop once you mark the submission as submitted. Each user can turn reminders off. ### Where is our data hosted? LEXSUB's own staff pages require it. ### Can LEXSUB staff read our deals? Staff have no in-app way to view a firm's content.
